Why do some people go out shopping in their fuzzy slippers and pajama bottoms?

I mean, don’t they realize how disgustingly trashy they look? Their pink fuzzy slippers all dirty and filthy.. And before anyone says “maybe they don’t have regular shoes” let me tell you..I’ve seen these people load up on plenty of non-essential items!. I guess they don’t care? Anyone out there done this and can tell us why?
